Root can I run CM10?

Hi guys, Ive been reading a ton of threads on here for the past few days trying to figure out why I'm not able to get any rom other than stock to work. Totally frustrated.

Im trying to get CM10 or CM 10.1 because 7.xx worked great for me on my OG evo. (used this site this time last year and it saved my phone more than once!!)

now I come to find out that I cannot run CM because of the touchscreen firmware issue.

also with being s-on I think I have another issue with flashing kernels?...

here is what im working with:

rooted through HTCdev
good backup that I am able to restore
s-on
hboot 2.09
TWRP v2.4.1.0
3.16.651.3
radio 1.12.11.1210

Since CM seems to be a dead end Ive tried:

Viper 3.1.5 -will not take the rom. Also tried using team venom kernal installer. -no luck there.

Meanrom reboots in the middle of the flash and sticks on HTC splash screen.

I am doing full wipes of everything in between flashes. Also installing gapps and doing a superwipe before flashing rom.

So far the only Rom that sticks is CM 10 and 10.1 but no touchscreen!!!!

with my setup is it possible to get CM10 or 10.1 working? If not, what would cause the 2 other roms to bootloop or crash every time I flash them

Please advise
Thanks!!

welcome to AF!!!!!

nope....you need s-off so that you can downgrade your firmware. it is another reason why you should never accept an ota while rooted or considering rooting your phone.

what do you mean it does not take when you flash viper? what happens? what are you wiping? what rom are you on now?

Make sure your downloads are good by checking the MD5 sum. There are a few good simple applications to check, here's one:
MD5 Checker - CNET Download.com

grab the md5 either from the rom OP, or sometimes it's listed on the download page. Make sure these match. :)

If you flash Viper, no need to wipe from recovery. Choose the wipe function in the Aroma Installer, should work.

Also follow this guide to get the kernel flashed:
