Can I still use google maps/gps/navigation after my contract is up?

Hey guys. Just wondering if this is dependent on having a data plan or cellular service?

yes you can. with the new version of google maps, you can cache the maps to work offline. you just need a wifi connection when you set your destination.
OR
buy a full gps app that downloads maps to your phone and works like a traditional gps.

what about overseas when i am travelling?

as long so google has maps for that country, or a third party app does, then yes.

I think you would at least want a wifi connection to load up the data for a trip, if you are not going to be in your local area. The complete maps are not cached from what I understand. Alternatively, you could download Navdroyd for ~$7, it is a nav program with maps stored on the device. Mapdroyd is free, so you can look at the maps, but it does not offer navigation.
