Can I trust banking apps?

just saw that the market finally got a wells Fargo app and after all this waiting to get one, I don't know whether I want to trust it or not. Is this legit?

Well, it's released by Wells Fargo...

Personally though, I would wait until Wells Fargo announces it or confirms that it's their app prior to using it. I know that I wouldn't want to be the one trying to sort through identity theft if it was not a trustworthy app.

Also, you can go to their web site to see if it mentions the app. While my bank does not offer an Android app yet, I was told that one would be released in the very near future and it would be advertised on the bank's web site.

Well, confirmed it was legit. First banker i talked to said he had it on his mytouch. Too bad it won't let me log in. Just gives me some error about internet not available even when I have internet. Oh well...back to using the website

Have you tried Firethorne's "Banking for Android" app? It's a universal app, and I use it for my banking. It's trusted by my bank and many others, so I would say it's safe.

A good way to check anything expectantly web sites, is if they have a verisign account if they do it's located somewere on the site. Click on the link it'll take you to Verisign.com site, and it'll have the site info on it. Also if they have a app they'll be a link to it some were on the site. No developer isn't going to make software or applications and not endorse it.
