Root Can I update?

I'm on the Viper one m8 Rom and I just got a notification that version 1.8 is now available for download... I heard that I should never do ota updates while rooted... What do I do ?

hi.
you can just download and flash it
no need to wipe before... but a nandroid backup is always good idea before anything

yeah it's awesome isn't it.. btw updated version 2 is out very soon.. I'm not sure I'm even that bothered as this version is running so sweet :-D

Yeah, I'll just add this for the readers.

I was running Viper 1.7.1 and got the "software update" notification to go to 1.8. I took a look on the 'net and found that in fact Viper 2.0.0 is out.

Took the 1.8.0 update and all is good, in fact in someways much better than 1.7.1.
