Help can i use a galaxy s3 without gmail

is having a gmail a must to use a Galaxy phone? I just want to use my @msn.com email and have non of the gmail crap

When I got my G3 and my provider Virgin Mobil USA they asked me for my e-mail address I provided my Yahoo address and it works in the gmail G3 icon.

Just leave your gmail app redundant if you want. Disable auto-sync and notifications. remove the homescreen shortcut and forget about it
You need a gmail address though to use google's services

You can use the Stock email app and set up your msn account. If you root your phone you can remove the gmail app.

You do want that gmail account. It is ubiquitous.

I haven't used an msn email id, so can't comment on any crap that may or may not be attached to it. However, I see no crap with my gmail account which I have had for several years. Presumably just "different strokes for different folks".

In the android world, I really like the ability to buy apps using the Google Play Store and share them easily between our 3 Android devices. You can also buy apps from amazon, but it is a little more difficult to install on the phone/tablet.

You don't have to use the gmail account for actual email, but I strongly recommend having an id for the Play Store.

Im not sure if removing gmail affects the other google apps. Definately disable it or researching it before installing
