Help Can I use iPhone SIM card in Note?

I'm looking to transition from my iPhone 3G to the Note. Will the locked AT&T SIM card from my iPhone work in an unlocked Note? Are there any limitations or problem areas?

I want to be able to use the Note when traveling outside the AT&T area which I do for about 6 to 8 months a year.

Yes and No. The 3G SIM is the same size as the LTE one the note will take, but you will ONLY get voice.

You will have to either call AT&T or visit a store to get a 4G LTE SIM and have your plan changed to that (should be no extra costs as it is just a SKU change b ut the data plans are the same price).

If it was an iPhone 4 SIM. The answer would be NO. iPhone 4 uses a Micro SIM so it would not work without an adapter, still easier (and FREE) to get one from AT&T directly.

Good, thanks. But will AT&T then lock my Note so I can't use it on another carrier?

If you bought it or had it unlocked, they CANNOT lock it with just putting in a SIM. They would have to be punching in codes or replacing it, which won't happen if you bought it 3rd party.

Don't worry. They really don't care as much for the device as they are with you paying the bill and using their service. :)
 
The iPhone uses a mini Sim card, and unless you can align it perfectly on the tabs, it will not work. also people have tried to use the adapters and broken the Note's Sim card holder. since the note us unlocked, just go and get a Sim from AT&T, using it will not carrier lock the phone.
 
as far as the size difference they sell adapters for the mini sim card, i got one when i busted my iphone 4 and had to use my back up 3gs..i got it at a local shop in vegas for 7 bucks

Saving a few bucks on "not buying a new sim card" is not worth possibly breaking an $800 phone; and AT&T will not replace the phone under warranty if you do. So DO NOT USE THE ADAPTER

honestly i was not thinking of that at the moment but good point , i just did it for future accidents and less hassle overall.. the adapter worked fine and didn't have any issues with it..i guess if people had issues with the adapters before im a lucky user cause never experienced any issues with it
 
I'm in the same situation. I have a Iphone 4 and I am going to buy the international note. So I just have to go to ATT and tell them I want a full size sim card?
 
Hi, I have an AT&T global data plan with iphone 4. But iphone 4 has small screen while note has bigger screen plus a stylus that I can use so I don't need to carry my paper writing pad any more. This is the closest paper replacement I can get. I had ipad.... bought capacitive pen, it never gives me the same feeling. I am swtiching to note. I bought a SIM adapter and inserted it into note. Voice works but no data. Seems like the SIM card knows which phone to work with. AT&T does not allow me to migrate the sim to any other phone. I still have another year of contract with them. Any way to use the AT&T sim with note.
