Help Can my lg optimus m play better games?

Hello all, first and foremost i would like to say that this is my first day on this website and this is my first thread so i am not familiar with anything (layouts, lingo, etc...) so please excuse me especially since i have never been part of a forum either.

That being said, my question might be a noob question but if it is I'm sorry. I have an android optimus m, it has 2.2 i think, i'm not sure lol. And usually I buy my games. But what i noticed the other day is that when i go to my market, i don't have the same games that other friends have, like spiderman and gangstar. I hate this. So i tried intalling an apk (only cause i could not buy the game anywhere else) and it loads, but crashes. So i'm pretty sure that means I can't play on my phone. But is there any way, any mods, and upgrades that will let me play these types of games on my phone or is there just no hope? :[ I know there are companies like polarbit, i have the racing games, but I'm talking about the other ones too.

To see your exact version, from the Home screen click Menu -> Settings -> About phone -> Android version.

Yes, it's true the Android Market has things divided by compatibility. Though our phone is great, it's no high end phone. At 600MHz and 320x480, it doesn't compare to a 1GHz+ phone with a 480x800 res. Though some items may just have size requirements and can auto-scale to fit and be sideloaded, there's no getting around those that have have hardware requirements. And even though android versions rarely affect compatibility, there's probably a few 2.3.x only downloads.

The good news is that there are plenty of other really good games that you can play through emulators. Check out gameboid, snesoid, and n64oid. You can find those on the market except for n64oid, you should be able to find it through google. Also I recommend the app Romfetcher from the market as well, because it is really simple and easy to download the games with.

Aside from emulators a few nice games that you can find in the marketplace are: Zenonia 1 & 2 (3 is coming out end of june), illusia, pocket heroes, Caligo Chaser, Cyberlords, Demon Hunter, Imaginary Range, spectral souls
