Root Can no longer root

I have no idea what happened, apparently my phone rebooted sometime last night, and when i tried to use rom toolbox..i discovered that root access is gone..its completely back to stock..minus all the metro bloatware..and i can't seem to get root access back no matter what procedure i try

Lg sent a OTA invisible update so now most phones are going unrooted , depends when you might get it or not

Interesting. Was you on a custom rom when this happened?

Invisible OTA..ok that's not cool..and I was on a stock rom..the only things that i did was change the boot animation and removed bloatware

Re rooting doesn't work? Does it still say ZVA? How can I check to see if I lost root? I only rooted to remove bloatware too. Tks.

Re rooting doesn't work tried multiple times..even downloaded root checker to make sure..and it still says ZVA

Hopefully the big guy's will finger this out. Least you didn't get stuck with the bloatware again. So far I still have root. O.o

Rooting works perfectly well. I am not sure about the "invisible" OTA update from LG, but I did follow a procedure that most of you will find valid:

  1. Backed up my current ROM just in case using CWM
  2. Connected my phone in Download Mode and got the latest Stock ROM version using the LGE Mobile Support Tool.
  3. Re-rooted my phone successfully using this script.
  4. Flashed CWM from within the app itself.
  5. Restored my backup from CWM.

I was uncertain to do all this in fear of losing root access, but I was like "eh, might as well." So there you all go. :) Now assessing the original problem featured in this thread, I suggest you use the script I just posted (Which btw, I take no credit for) and unroot your phone using it. Also, remember to have your phone in USB Debugging mode before attempting root. It should work just fine.

Ah that might explain some things....maybe.

I woke up this morning and my phone had rebooted at about 6 am EST according to my boot logger. And i thought that was strange.

Oh well no biggy. Then all of a sudden this evening my phone starts rebooting constantly. I tried some trouble shooting like fixing permissions and clearing cache, etc. but nothing worked, i started to suspect ROM Toolbox, and during all the boot looping tonight a ROM Toolbox update popped up so i was hoping that maybe the update would fix it. But it did not.

I didn't even think to check ROOT.

Already started restoring my phone to a nandroid from about 10 days ago though before i read this. Sucks because it took me hours to download ME Infiltrator since it was a quarter on the store yesterday, and i couldn't back it up without my phone rebooting.

Oh well, maybe I will just sit down and start from scratch one day. I.E. use the LG Updater to go back to stock, then reinstall Black Plague and then reinstall all my apps.

Well, all the apps you have purchased and installed are logged in the Play Store. If you purchased an app, you don't have to buy it again, just install it. All apps are listed in apps > Swipe to the left. The history is there. Also, you can use Titanium backup to restore ONLY the data of a nandroid you have previously made (along with the apps if you want which saves the time of manually reinstalling them). If you do use BP or BO, just make sure you are not overclocking. I lost count of how many times I have said that overclocking simply causes random reboots (the higher the more frequent) and it overheats your phone. There is little to nothing overclocking can do good to your phone.
