Help Can not connect to MAC

Hello Everyone,
I am a transplant from the ZTE WARP... I loved my warp, and am now well on my way to starting to love my s2. I am having a problem however, connecting my phone to my macbook. I know that you need to download kies to get the drivers, HOWEVER, i do not have internet at my house. From what i can see, kies utilizes a wi-fi connection for file transfer. There has to be a way to just connect my usb to my mac and be able to transfer files around and add/delete photos ect with out using an internet connection. I have searched the internet for the specific drivers i might need, but have come up empty. Can anyone offer me insight?

P.S i know that there is already a post started with a user having difficulty connecting to a PC, but because i am on a MAC, and the solution presented to the individual was to utilies kies, i opted to start a new thread because i felt my issue was different enough and a little more specific seeing how i do not have access to internet at my house.

If you are wanting to pull files etc via you shoukld be able to just use your mac's web browser as long as both devices are connected to the same wireless router. Just run the kies air app on your phone and enter the url it tells you to on your mac's browser.

the problem is i have no internet at my house. I have no router, or modem or any sort of internet equipment. I cannot be connected to the same wireless network or wireless router because there is none. Is there no way to utilize file transfer with out having to go through an online path?

setup your Mac to do a networking Adjacent host connection setup like you would do for internet connect sharing on a windows machine. let the mac assign ip addresses then connect to it on the phones wifi. that is fairly easy to do and would not require a router.

That sounds like pretty techy talk to me, but i think i can figure that process out. The blip i see happening here is two things... I do not pay boost's additional charge for hotspot services, and i am not rooted, so i can not use an aftermarket tether, to the best of my knowlage. i am unaware of a meathod to utilize my phone internet on my mac with my curent stock phone and service plan. Please advise if i am missing something.

Sidenote: I am at work now, so i can not put any of these theories to test until i am home.
