Help Can not sync hotmail account

I have been trying for months to sync to my hotmail account, and I am having no luck. I tried Microsoft exchange and Pop/Imap. Can anyone give me specific directions. Here is what I did in Pop
email : name@hotmail.com
username: name@hotmail.com
password: given
pop server: pop3.live.com
Security type: SSL
Server port: 995
it keeps saying Authentication failed. Please verify username/password, and believe me I have checked and rechecked username and password they are fine.

Hello there,

I had the same problem for my new HTC wildfire. Called network provider (3) and they advised me of app called Maildroid. It's free to download from HTC market. Once downloaded, you can easily sync your hotmail aco**** with current username and password...(do play around to make sure its working though i.e. send/delete messages just to be sure it's working as mine took a few hours to line up with hotmail).
