Help Can NOT unlock lock screen

DILands

Android Expert
OK all - I recently installed a new lock screen app (I can not remember the name of it) that displays all notifications, Was actually a nice little app. The morning, it will not slide all the way over to the right to unlock.

Plan B was a factory reset - but because I can't get it unlocked, I can't power it off.

Any ideas?

TIA!Spoke to HTC - the only answer is to kill the battery - recharge to 35% or more - hard reset

Not quite. If you press and hold volume up and power at the same time , it will simulate a battery pull. From there , hold power button and volume down buttons until you boot into hboot. Use volume keys to select factory reset, press power to select.

Really a bummer you got hosed by that app. Hope it all gets fixed up! :)

Try safe mode before factory reset

Safe Mode will run your phone with all 3rd party applications disabled, on a more clean configuration.

Ensure that Fast Boot is turned off in your Power Settings
Power the phone down and wait for it to be fully turned off for a minute or two
Power the phone back on
When you see the HTC Boot screen immediately press and hold down the 'volume down' hardware key on the right side of the phone. Hold it until the phone completes start up, and you see the words "Safe Mode" displayed in the lower left corner of your lock/home screen.

To get out of Safe Mode simply power off and power on your phone as normal

The name of the app is (or more appropriately WAS) "Echo Lockscreen".

did this

"If you press and hold volume up and power at the same time , it will simulate a battery pull."

Phone rebooted, That was IT. Interestingly that the HTC support person didn't say that.

you guys ROCK!!!

Thanks soooooo much!!
