Help Can send text, Can't receive text Except

Android new-bee here.My last phone was a 3 yr old Arc that I got new for free.

As per title, I can send text, but cant receive them except, Virgin alerts and a VM agent sent me a regular text and I got it.
I have had 3 people send texts and I did not get them.

I have pulled the battery and reset it.

Any help is appreciated

Ive had this phone for about 4 months now and I can tell you with 99% certainty that its not the phone. Virgin mobile isnt the best network and occasionally the data goes out for me. Other people have said they cant talk or text. The only thing I can tell ya is wait for them to fix it.

I called Virgin Mobile again (4th time) and this time the agent said he would reset the text on my account. I now can receive text

Like a lot of other phones, the OpV suffers from the TWS bug. This thread here explains how to fix it.

As long as I've followed the directions in that post after I've rebooted my phone I never lose 3G service. The only time I do is when somethings going on with the Sprint tower near me (or there is just a general outage), because the other two phones in my house also lose 3G service. Generally speaking, this is rare.
