Root Can someone please help me With Changing ROMS

I am currently running Cyanogen 6.1.1 on a CDMA Desire (US CELLULAR) cMTD also for the SD Card....S-BOOT OFF......I am having problems on how to change roms, and how to reinstall the one i have....if there is anyone out there that could possibly walk me through the steps can you please PM ME?? YES I AM A NEWB!!!! LOL
 
Ok first off u wana make all ur backups download titanium manager and make a backup of all ure apps, then u wana boot ur phone into recovery turn phn off hold piwer and down vol button use vol down to select recovery once in clockwork use trackball to select backup and backup ure current rom 8ncase u run into probs lastly backup ur sd on ur comp jus to b safe. Ok to install a rom firstly pik the rom u want i recomend leedroid 2.3d lovin it at min download it put the .zip on root of ur sd not in a folder and dont unzip it, boot into recovery again and this time select install zip from sd card use trakball to select it let it do its thing and boom new rom first boot can take upto 10 mins so dont panic hope this helps
 
so basically after you do the factory reset/wipe and then install the rom from the SD that is all you have to do? You don't have to reinstall the GAPPS or anything??

Can someone also please tell me how to load a Theme?? I have tried everything for this also.....can not get it to work..i must be an idiot LOL....
 
Use theme kitchen on xda or put a rom like leedroid on your phone then ther a a good few themes on.xda that wrk

If your rom build doesn't have gapps then you'll need to install gapps yourself.

Cyanogen doesn't come with gapps.
