Can the Nexus charge a phone battery?

Hi all,
I've preordered the 8gb model. It works for me because I've got plenty of cloud storage (around 80gb floating around in various places plus the option of using my 500gb NAS if that's not enough), the One plan from Three with unlimited data plus tethering, and a BT FON account just in case. When I'm on holiday for a week I think that 8gb will see me through so I'm happy with the amount of storage for the price. I've been looking at tablets for a while and
 
I don't believe the Nexus 7 is capable of powering devices via its Micro-USB port. It can only accept power, not deliver it. I have an A500 that has a Full size USB port, and I am able to do it via that. But the Nexus 7, I don't think so.

It must be putting out some degree of power for USB-input devices, which it does support, according the the manual.

Granted, we don't know how much power, so it may be too little to charge a phone quickly/at all.
