Can we just outwardly acknowledge how big of a blunder this text/voicemail thing is?

I have an unrooted phone with he stock Rom, and I have never had any issue you are complaining about. So what's the blunder?

+1

I haven't deleted any VVM yet and no problem... 5 months going...
I have 42 apps, have gone down to less than 20 megs free and no problem...

This doesn't mean, you are not experiencing what you state.
Every once in a while... things act crazy a little, I reboot and do the following stuff below which clears any weird stuff I happened to notice.

... just like a PC which might be having hiccups... when in doubt = Reboot! Do some phone-cleaning, just like your PC... empty the trash (caches), throw away unused items (apps) and get newer versions (updates).

LIKE PC's - the Smartphones might be automated, but there is some maintenance involved to have things going good. Also... This would be a terrible scientific study (thread) because there are no control elements mentioned by all the poster's here who have experienced the problems. Like you taking you car to an Auto-Mechanic complaining your car don't run correctly and then leaving the car there without offering any additional information.

Tell us: When did you notice the problem?, did you recently update an app or install one as you began to have this issue?, what's your app profile, how many apps?, how about reboots?, wipes?, etc.? Have you tried uninstalling all apps and beginning from scratch?, etc., etc. Some here like to help, rather than just post problems, seek a fix! :D

Sometimes... it's the simplest things which escape our attention. The little things that make a big difference. ;)

I haven't had this specific problem as far as I know, I do have random call issues, but I've become numb to them by now and I never stopped to find a pattern. Maybe, the group experiencing this has a common denominator, which could be an app or something.
i agree with you. to my knowledge im not missing any text. i think people are killing important apps or process on the phone. or just try a hard reset. its not that serious. your paid apps will come back. your contacts should be in google anyway.
