Root can you remove METRO on notification bar

I will really like to know if you can remove the metro logo notification bar I will be sweet

i actually like it there especially when people c my phone all tweaked out and running faster than there phone, then when i tell them its a metro they trip out they ask show me its a metro thats when i pull down the notification bar to show them its a metro all they say is damn thats nice ....;) lmao

Lol had the same reaction from my friends they use to laugh when i was on optimus m. Now I'm doing the laughing and my low bill. :-P

but it says "metroPCS" in the back of the phone.
 
Its in either one of the jar files or apks in the system>framework folder. Its an XML called eri.xml...If youre on GSE or GSE extreme it'll be in a file called res in the framework folder. ;)

The bar will still be there, but you can use UOT Kitchen and turn the opacity of the Carrier name to 0% which would remove the "MetroPCS" on there.

edit:

You can also add in text that is right-aligned, so if you want to.. you can add text:
"Verizon Wireless " (with the spaces after the word)
and it'll look like your carrier is VZW.
Or you can make it funny and change it to some BS carrier like Cingular, Pacific Bell Wireless, BrianPCS, (your business name), etc..
