Accessories can you reuse old screen digitizers?

hi i have a cracked screen on my incredible and i was wondering if i could use my friends old screen digitizer to replace it . his is waterlogged and doesn't really work but i was hoping at least i could make use his screen. would this be possible? or could i find a used part out there instead of buying a new digitizer?
 
not everything that is free is worth it. I was just giving you my perspective. For $26, I'd just replace it with new.

Try your buddies out. If it doesn't work, then buy a new one and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you at least attempted to replace it at no charge.

I will give you a tip. The adhesive that holds the digitizer on does not do so well when being re-applied. I would get some 2-sided thin 3M and put new on it.
