Help Can ZTE concord 2 get free hotspot apps to work

Are there any hotspot apps that work with this phone? I tried foxfi but I get this message every time:
Fail to activate hotspot: Fail to start,please verify your phone contains Hotspot feature.
Error: setWifiApEnabled [class android.net.wifi.RecoNfiguration, Boolean] then foxfi turns off later. Any other hotspot I tried don't work or just turns off can someone help me.

a friend just got this phone and i'm gonna try to get wifi tether working on it too.

I'm going to try rooting but do I just get a wifi app so I can get hotspot or is it more to it
