Cancelled Sprint back to crApT&T

Cancelled my sprint service... was told by the rep that it was up to me if I wanted to return the evo..... he said that my account showed that all I owed was my minutes used. I asked if I kept the evo and didnt return it would I be charged the full price for the phone? He said no. Just to keep it that maybe I would change my mind and go back.... is this how sprint works?? I thought for sure I would have to return it or risk paying for the full price without a contract.

I would ask another rep. I'm pretty sure you have to return the phone or they will charge you full price.

yea.. I think I'll call back in a few days and see what someone else says.

I didnt want to leave sprint... service was AMAZING but I was finding it so hard to adjust to the evo coming from an iphone.... :( I'm still kicking myself for going back to att....

lol if they dont make you pay retail im cancelling my plan, keeping the evo then opening up a new account haha

sprint's 30 day guarantee would require you give the phone back if you don't wanna pay early termination fee. if you do give the phone back, they should give you back what you paid for the phone.

dueces V ... You act like the iphone has no issues not to mention at&t. LoL. Going from Evo to iPhone is like going from the year 2010 back to the stone age. Have a safe trip.

i know it is... I'm just confused as to why the rep would tell me that I didnt have to return it. He said that my account was closed and all that I owe is for minutes used.....

And Sprint's Customer service is never known to make mistakes :p

You will probably get a bill in 3 months for the retail cost of the phone...

the dude just didn't know what he was talking about straight up. just think about it, wouldn't be profitable for sprint. common sense.

thanks for the well wishes... i agree att blows, check the title of the thread. and I never said that the iphone didnt have any issues. If you don't have any useful info in regards to the thread title then leave. thanks.

It hasn't even been a week yet and you've given up? Begs the question what else you've given up on prematurely in life?

You have 30 days to return the phone, I would never believe anything anyone says to you, unless you have a "final bill" printed that states what you owe, I would bet you will get a very large bill, but it probably will be for early termination fee not the retail price of the phone.

If you like the service, you should have at least stayed until June 24th, give it a chance to grow on you (still within the 30 day grace period) before you went and got your new Iphone 4 :D

I would give it all the way until the end of the 30-day guarantee trial period before returning to your previous service... let yourself have some "break in" time to get used to it, then decide.

if he doesn't like the evo, then he doesn't like it. there are a lot of differences between iphone os and android. not everyone is gonna like android better.

Im not going to turn this thread into another evo vs. iphone thread... I'll call sprint in a few days and see what they have to say. The rep did notate my account with the final bill total... Im still playing with the evo daily trying to weigh my options before saying bye.

If you cancel, you pay the ETF.. If you cancel and return the phone within the 30 days, you get the money you paid for the phone back, and no ETF. If you cancel within the 1st 30 days, and don't return the phone, you pay ETF, but have the EVO to do whatever you want.

I think that he was taking revenge on you for not having stayed with Sprint. Pretty clever!

LOL sure just keep it. Sooner or later you will get a bill for the handset.

Last sentence is incorrect.
