cannot access recovery mode on s2

[Florbid]

Hi,

I have spend the last few hours trying to figure out how to root my s2 and install CM.

I have used Odin to install the clockwork recover mod. It seemed to go ok until the phone got stuck in a boot loop and froze without booting.

I have read up a lot and have managed to wire the phone into the USB directly to overcome this.

The problem I now have is that I can enter download mode, however the options for recovery mode don't work, i just get stuck at either the samsung s, or a battery picture with the loop not moving.

I have tried to install a few versions of clockwork to no avail.

Can anyone assist?

I don't know which instructions you have been following to root your phone but it seems that you may have a kernel mismatch between your stock kernel and the one you are using to root.

See the, "Rooting Galaxy S2 - Dummies Guide", posts #1 & #2, over in the, "All Things Root" section of the forum, for a step-by-step guide with videos on how to root the Galaxy S2 for beginners.
