cannot answer phone

Anyone have a problem with not being able to answer the phone or hang it up after a call? Verizon hasn't been able to fix it either.

Is it just like a black screen lag? I had this problem. It would go to a black screen and freeze and by time i knew it was a call, it was too late. it would finally show who was calling and gave me a chance to answer but it even lagged to tell me i missed the call too.

No actually I can see who calls, but it will not let me scroll down to answer it. It rings, shows who's calling, but won't let me get to the call. Also have a hard time hanging up from a call unless the other person hangs up first. Big problem when I am leaving a message for others.

press the call button to answer instead of scrolling, same problem

Make sure you have "quiet ring on pickup" un-checked in menu > settings > sound and display > quiet ring on pickup.

Then, I'd clear my call log/history, then do a live battery pull (with the device on, remove the battery and wait about a minute, put it back in and reboot).

If that did not resolve the issue, I'd back up my gmail/calendar, etc and do a factory data reset (menu > settings > privacy > factory data reset).

Yes. I just rooted over the weekend though so hopefully those issues are a thing of the past. I love the Android platform, just really frustrated with this piece of hardware.

FWIW, I still get a laggy answer even with root...running KaosFroyo...and still my phone only rings for like 7-10 seconds for each call I receive...root never fixed my original major issues with phone. Oh well.

Hence the beauty of having physical Call and End buttons... I don't think I ever use the on screen buttons to answer or end calls anymore. It is much more responsive that way.

And of course rooting helps immensely. As well as Dialer One. And cleaning out your call log. :D
