Cannot boot into clockworkmod recovery

Ok sorry I'm an idiot.

I want to connect my phone to my computer with the cable and for kies to connect with it. it wont. how do i fix this?

I'll reverse everything I've done if i have to but I backed up everything with kies first and I need to get my contacts back.

ok figure out the apps from titanium still hopin the contacts come with it but each time i try to connect by cable to computer it tells me change connection mode

Have you synced your phone with Google in Settings > Accounts and sync?

Did you already have your contacts sync'd with Google originally?

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S2 and was having trouble booting into Clockworkmod recovery. I found one of your threads recommending installing a new kernel which helped fix my issue. I now have Cyanogenmod installed and am loving it. Thank you, ironass, for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Ok scrap all those questions since everything is fine.

SO I stuck with the first siyah 2.2 kernel I installed in the old posts above
CheckRom v6.
Have battery stats on the the phone so I'll keep and eye. I'll post them in here after the next charge and maybe someone can help me understand what it all means!

Ok I don't know why, but JK Deluxe wouldn't work so I installed it again. I updated Kitchen Pro manually but I've tried to download and add few themes but none of them will apply after the reboot, i'm still on stock.

Any ideas what's wrong here?

Sounds like you're in a right pickle again DrainBamaged! ;)

So, you are on CheckROM v6?

You have installed the complete JKay theme package 13.6.4 for XWLA4 which includes Deluxe Settings?

You have the latest Kitchen Pro, v2.41, downloaded from the Market and checked, "CWM Recovery FIX", in settings?

Did you download and install, "Theme Restore Package v2" from the Kitchen before attempting to flash a new theme?

Hello again Ironass! Yes it's wouldn't be a post from me if I wasn't at sea.

Yes sir flashed to CheckRom V6, same Jk theme package 13.6.4.
I have Kitchen Pro and CWM recovery fix is checked.

I didn't do the last past but I'll install it now. It reverted back to stock theme after I flashed and each time I tried a new theme from Kitchen download/install/reboot but when the phone boots up the theme is still the same.

What themes are you trying to flash? Are they just mods to the notification bar? If they are you have to turn these mods on in the jkay app after flashing. If you go to status bar options you can tick themed clock and battery, etc

Nope didn't make a difference but thanks for the tip anyway.

Using your File Manager, are you able to open, /sdcard/checkrom, and see the downloaded .zip files for your themes?

Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWLA-CL900411
root@DELLBUILER01 #2

I don't know if this is at all relevant but hell I might as well provide every scrap of info I have it's like I know what the hell it all really means.

Oh and cwm is v3.0 I thought I had v5 but there you go

Thought so.

As Shottie says... "Root again", using this method:-

http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-...t/482994-rooting-galaxy-s2-dummies-guide.html

Then install the Siyah kernel, using this method:-

http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-...7-12-dummies-guide-installation-settings.html

read everything thoroughly and take your time. :D
I promise I will, but this is more for my own curiosity. I did have Siyah kernel on the phone, I had to as all the posts from a few months ago state above. So how the heck could it disappear. In the CheckROM Faq it said because I was using an old CheckRom I could flash and go.

I'm guessing that when you flashed CheckROM v6, which comes with, and installs, it's own kernel, you lost Siyah and, as sometimes happens, you lost root.
