Cannot change the app notification tone

my device is rooted, Hisense E860 ICS 4.0.3
i can't change the notification tone on any apps such as on Gmail when i try to change my notification tone then appear on screen "unfortunately, the process com.google.android.gm has stopped"
i try too on facebook "unfortunately, the process com.facebook.katana has stopped"
same too on tweetcaster pro when i try change the notification tone "unfortunately, the process com.handmark.tweetcaster.premium has stopped"
i've try to re install the apps, restart the device, and clean the cache with any "clean cache apps" those not help at all :'(
please help me how i can fix it...

I have never even heard of your device I'm afraid but if you have a factory reset option, I believe I would attempt it.

Have you tried installing a new ROM on the device, it might fix this issue, since apparently you have a bad install.

Yes, I should have explained better I apologize. If you have a custom recovery, choose the wipe data/factory reset option. It would reset the rom to it's origin essentially. I do realize that not all phones have custom recoveries available, is that the case with yours? Are you just rooted with a stock rom and stock recovery?

This does not sound like a super simple problem. There is probably more at work here.

One possible work around to fix this one issue is trying Light Flow. Try the free edition - it works with gmail, sms, etc. If it works you should be able to change sound, vibration, etc in your notifications.
