Root cannot connect to any wifi

hello

i have a rooted android admire and for the past week ive been trying to get on the wifi and to no avail. my setting to my router are all correct but all it says is "Login failed" on the screen. Is there any way i can fix this?

Maybe i can explain it ago little clearer.

About a week ago, i tried to tap into my home wifi, only to be brought up with the Wifi symbol with an exclamation point. when i read what the problem is, it tells me to it failed and to tap and try again. nothing happens. on top of that, i seem i cant get any 3G service to my phone at the moment. I can still make calls and text, but nothing in the way of going on the internet at all.

I mess around with the mobile data setting in the setting part of the phone, with that I got the 3G symbol, but its not green. Meaning no 3G Does anyone have a solution on what could be the cause of my problem?

well, i dont have any roms. the apps that are rooted on my phone are the following:

CPUTuner
DroidWall
Root Check Basic
Root Explorer
Root uninstaller
Superuser
Wifi Tether

I was messing around with the data setting under "Wireless and network" setting on the Settings tab, to try and set it to to 2G service, so i can save battery life. My plan was to use only wifi to get online and the such.

I have also edited the following files in the "system" folder:

samsungloop
build.prop.bak
build.prop (this was to ensure i had tether on my phone)

In addition, with root uninstaller, i removed some of the stock apps, such as "Books", and some components like "Swype" keyboard, and the other keyboard that was in another language.

Also, i only dropped the phone 1 TIME, and it was in a case, and on soft carpet.

This is pretty much everything i have done to my phone that could've warranted me that i can think of with such a problem. I can still access stuff like google maps, but i cannot connect to the internet whatsoever.

Go back into your settings then check.if you have data enabled

Sorry, that hasnt help me yet. I just finished doing he steps in this thread http://androidforums.com/admire-all-things-root/524058-does-who-has-no-data-all-fix.html and i still dont have any data for my phone. I really dont wanna get a brand new phone and would really appreciate some help for this problem i have.
