Help cannot copy calendar items for contacts

I read a lot of threads on this but they only give work arounds . No solutions or explanations.
I have been using this google cal sync at home but I can't get calendar notes on Google cal.

at least tell me why this is happening
so I'm using htc to sync with pc
windows vista
EVO 3D on Sprint
I'm only only the month so you're gonna have to tell me where the versions are

speak slowly small words
thank you in advance

and desperation sets in.

It should be quite obvious, but you really haven't asked a question so that we can help you. You briefly state you're having an issue with contacts and calendar. I sense there may be a language barrier.

So please list what your problem is in detail and include what applications and device you are using.

cannot copy calendar items for contacts
what I meant by that is I am getting an error message from htc that states "cannot copy calendar items"

I have been using this google cal sync at home but I can't get calendar notes on Google cal. this has to do with an app i am using and it doesn't have anything to do with my real problem sorry

at least tell me why this is happening? if anyone knows

below describes my setup, please add outlook2003
so I'm using htc to sync with pc
windows vista

thank you very much for responding. please let me know if there is any other information I can add.

I guess everyone wants me to give up and go away

Not at all. It might well be that no one has a proper solution or knows why the problem exists? I understand it's frustrating that no one has been able to assist so far, but you have to remember, no one is actually obliged to answer if they don't know the solution (it would be nice if they did however). In the past, I've made threads looking for help that have gone unanswered, but on the flip side, I've asked far more that have gotten answers. It's just one of those things unfortunately.

In future, if you don't think your thread is getting the attention it deserves, PM one of the guides (their user names are green, like mine) and we'll see what we can do to assist. A list of current guides can be found here.

From my experience with HTC Sync, it can be quite temperamental and won't always work the way it is supposed to unfortunately. You can try downloading the latest version from here.

Failing that, a far superior syncing solution (for me anyway) is an app called MyPhoneExplorer. You'll need to download the app for your PC, then the app for your phone via the market. That should do all of the things HTC Sync is supposed to do. That may solve your issue.

hello OP,

i am still at a loss as to what you are tying to do.

lets make sure everyone ison the same page.

are you rooted?
do you have the latest updates from Sprint/HTC? there was just a major upgrade thats now rolling out.

so you are not able to copy and paste a calendar entry? is this on the phone or are you cutting and pasting from your desktop to google's calendar on the desktop and its not syncing to your handset?

i also agree there should not be a need to purchase something so we will at least find out why the issues occurs.. you are in the right building now.. :)

have you used android handsets prior to this? if so did you have an issue with the calendar on those devices?

no the phone is not rooted
yes, I have the new update and the calendar still won't sync

this is a sync problem, HTC Sync displays a message stating "can't copy calendar items from phone" I am not cutting and pasting anything

this is my first android.

@cinnamngrl

Did you go to menu-settings-account $sync? make sure you have auto sync set and the right account .

add to the above, sounds like you have something in your calendar entries that is causing your sync to error out. something is not reconciling across the cloud, your handset and computer.

you should go in and look all of your calendar entries, even past ones/reoccurring ones and perhaps delete some old ones or maybe all of them to "Zero out" your calendar.

this most likely not a handset issue and is probably local to your personal contact info in the cloud.

Actually, today i discovered a bizarre calendar item from 05 that was repeated hundreds of times in Google. I am currently working on it.

I realize people don't have to answer but I thought they were upset that I bumped it every day. I was surprised that no one had solved it yet as it seems to have happened a lot. I did try MYphoneexplorer but that is not working either. I mean it does work but my calendar and contact sync seems to hang up for 20 minutes until I give up and kill the process. thanks for your response

my phone explorer is able to sync with itself just not with outlook so should I be thinking about wiping my phone calendar and starting fresh?

Potentially, as far as I was aware though, people have managed to sync MPE with their outlook calendar.

I'll have a play about when I get a spare second later on this evening.

This sounds like the error I got when trying to sync, but it was trying to sync with Outlook. The problem was HTC Sync will not work with 64bit version of Office.

ok, I should also point out that MPE has not been able to complete sync with a non MPE calendar without freezing. I was able to get phone data transfered to google calendar but now that's not working either. I don't think MPE is a solution for this.

@cinnamngrl

I had the same problem with Outlook and my HTC Desire - the calendar would not sync, with message "HTCSync cannot copy calendar items from device".

The solution I found was the following: in phone, go to Settings, than "Applications", and under "Manage applications" find (usually under running apps) Calendar Storage.

In the menu, clear data for Calendar Storage, and all your calendar items will be deleted in device. After that, sync with Outlook (set syncing to PC in case of conflict, just in case) and all your calendar items would be returned to your phone from Outlook.

how has it been since?

ok, it worked but I have seemed to have deleted my google calendar from my phone. this will be cool for now but eventually I may regret it as my outlook becomes more out dated. Office is cool but expensive

open up an empty homescreen. just flip to find one open. if you dont have an open home screen you need to make room for one since the calendar takes up the entire screen.

tap and hold on the screen and then scroll to the widgets.
