Cannot download anything from the market. I

I just cleared the cache as well, it keeps doing it. It says starting download, and then it disappears and doesn't download or install.
 
Great, I can't download any apps. , starting download, starting download. That's the closest I come. I've cleared market cache, I've restarted, I've started Google Talk, signed out of google talk, gone into flight mode with wifi, gone out of flight mode, tried to use 3g, etc. I don't know what it is.

You know what, that has happened to me before and clearing cache didn't fix it. I remember I just gave it a little bit and it started working again. Maybe give it a rest for a half day, then come back to it? Other than that I'm at a loss...
 
It's still not working =(. I've been trying this new thing adding a different google account, but that is failing as well. Someone wrote that that helped them.

Now when I try to either add a new google account, or use my father's one it says, "Can't establish reliable data connection to server". This is despite having full functioning wifi (browser works etc).

I guess maybe Google's Android servers are having some issues? No idea.
 
Hey any progress on the downloading issue? I've been having this same problem today. I cleared the cache, uninstalled the market update, and it still doesn't want to download anything. Anyway, just curious if waiting a day worked for you.
 
Andrew, I often had the same issue with my captivate i had
as well as both friends with Vibrants and Fascinates

my only remedy for the situation was a factory reset which was a pain.
thankfully, i never customized my android phones like many here and it was easy to find my apps when i had to redownload them...

That is one reason why i hated the captivate....hit download, 5 secs later download failed
try another app and got the same thing.
 
I'm been haveing the download problem for days now and phone won't let me do a factory reset. It just keeps saying "No reset was performed because the System Clear service is not available." Anybody have some ideas.
 
I ended up doing a factory reset and using titanium to re-install stuff, phone less laggy now though so that's good.
 
i went to download manager and cleared the cache, problem solved for me.

setting/ applications/manage applications/filter/all/download manager.
 
thanks alot, i've been on three forums, people say "clear the cache" then don't tell how that is done. By the way it work, good as new.
 
Anytime your phone says it can't do a factory reset

you have to do it another way.

I think you have the press the volume keys and power button all at the same time and it will boot off and oot into some kind of mode and give you the option to do a factory reset then
