Help Cannot factory reset or change pin

I need help. I cannot reset pin or fingerprints. When unlocking the screen you don't have to put a pin or scan fingerprint. When I go to location and security in settings and try to change pin and fingerprints it ask to swipe finger but instantly closes. I can not securely lock my phone. I am trying to factory reset to hopefully get it working again but I can't because it asks to swipe finger but again it instantly closes and goes back to menu. Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried the pin code? You have to set up a back up pin or drawing code to unlock, in case you can't use the fingerprint scanner.

I can still use the phone fine. I just can't set a pin code swipe code or fingerprints. The screen that pops up when you click change screen lock under location and security menu closes as soon as it comes up

Just to provide more information, I have unlocked and rooted my phone using gingerbread. When I go onto my phone memory on my computer I see the GINGERBREAD zip file. Problem seemed to start after I did all that

Moving this to the root section
