Help Cannot fully import contacts

Ok, so I decided to do a factory reset on my HTC EVO 4G to try and relieve some troubles it was having. Before I did that I exported my contacts to my google account. After that I unmounted my SD card, turned off and removed then rebooted. I went into the settings and did the reset. When it was done and I put the SD card I went to import my contacts back. I found the file I did today but any contacts I added in the last 6 months are gone. Any ideas what happened or how to get it back?

You said you exported your contacts to your google account? Do you mean you put them on your google account?
Or did you export them to your sd card and then tried to import them?
