Help Cannot get PC to see phone on COM port

Help please!

Trying to use CDMA Workshop and cannot get either my Win 7 or WinXP machines to see the phone in com port on device manager. Only sees it as "Qualcomm Mass USB" under 'disk drives'.

Tried every driver, removed all apple software (read that worked for someone on another forum), de-bugging and 'regular' modes. Tried booting phone while plugged in to PC. No avail.

Thanks!

Win 7 is extremely picky. It took me almost 6-7 times installing java and you need java to be recognized.
By any chance, have you seen the thread I made on CDMA workshop in the all things root thread?

Trying to get my Samsung Epic 4G activated on my current service plan, and no I have not. I will go check it out.

Funny, this is EXACTLY what I'm trying to do and having the same issue. I planned to use my Transform Ultra as the donor to get a used Epic 4g I bought last night onto my Boost account. I've read up pretty thoroughly on the Incognito method and it seems pretty straightforward; really your just transplanting personality traits of the Boost donor to the Sprint recipient using CDMA Workshop (in my case v 2.7), QPST and QXDM to peek and poke them about. YET, I cannot get my transform to dump to CDMA Wkshp despite getting feedback that it has connected to the phone's com port (in my case, COM4 under Win8 with the phone in booted up and in USB debug mode) Now, I AM running a custom ROM on the TU (Ultra Rom 4.1.0) so may I need to flash back to stock. AND I suspect since my Epic 4g is out of service on Spring and running CMW 10.1, I may need to flash it back to stock before I can perform the transplant. Can anyone advise me whether or not I need to be in stock Gingerbreak on my TU before I can get it talking to CDMA Wkshp? Thanks,

Just for reference, I also use win 8.

Plus, it has been my experience, CDMA does not play well with custom ROMs. The hidden menu apks seem to be missing something.

For me, it was always best to revert back to stock, then make changes.
