Root Cannot get phone to boot into recovery to install Clockwork

Hey guys, I had the CM7 mod on my phone for the longest time. Well a few days ago i droped my phone and cracked the screen. Went today and got a new one from BB. I cant get the phone to go into recovery mode so i can install the Clockwork mod. All i get is the picture of the android dude and a Triangle with a ! in the middle :/

Press only the down volume and power button for download mode to install CWM. Not both volume buttons.

Found the problem to be with the battery. I let the battery full charge and it worked fine after that.
