My Samsung account uses my gmail account as well. My sync is turned off also. Anyone that actually has the update, is your sync on? Has anyone tried updating through Kies?

I just got off of the phone with Samsung Tier 2 support. They are telling me that the update has been pulled due to bugs in the update. It has not been available since August 10th and they do not have a timeframe of when it will be available again.

I was shopping at the mall today. There is a big booth at the center of the mall that showcases the Tab 10.1. I talked to the guy there and asked him about the update. He told me that he has just updated a few of the Tab on display today. He showed me the new UI and it looks very nice and clean. It also has the Task Manager now which I really miss (I have it on my Fascinate).
The guy told me that I can bring my Tab to him and he can update it for me on the spot. I might consider taking that offer.![]()
But it is strange that when I tried to check for update on my Tab, it says my system is up to date. How could it be? Perhaps they are not sending it to everyone at this time?Thanks for the update. There is no "software update" or "automatic update" to uncheck in Settings. What version of Galaxy Tab do you have? I have the 4G 10.1 version.I was also unable to update via setting - software update - update. What i just did is i uncheck the automatic update, then press the update again. The new appearance is sleek n colorful..although i love the previous black n white color in Setting.

The 4G version is different. Under Settings --> About Tablet, I only have "System Updates" on the list.
I will take my Tab to the demo booth at the mall and let the Samsung rep does the update sometime next week.
