Cannot get TouchWiz update

My Samsung account uses my gmail account as well. My sync is turned off also. Anyone that actually has the update, is your sync on? Has anyone tried updating through Kies?
 
I just got off of the phone with Samsung Tier 2 support. They are telling me that the update has been pulled due to bugs in the update. It has not been available since August 10th and they do not have a timeframe of when it will be available again.

Thanks for the update. I suppose it's good they're going to fix the bugs, but this leaves me without the ability to rent downloaded movies for the plane. I had waited until the TouchWiz update was released to buy the SGT 10.1 so I could have the rental capabilities. I already sold my iPad, so now I'm stuck. That sucks!
 
I was shopping at the mall today. There is a big booth at the center of the mall that showcases the Tab 10.1. I talked to the guy there and asked him about the update. He told me that he has just updated a few of the Tab on display today. He showed me the new UI and it looks very nice and clean. It also has the Task Manager now which I really miss (I have it on my Fascinate).

The guy told me that I can bring my Tab to him and he can update it for me on the spot. I might consider taking that offer. :)

But it is strange that when I tried to check for update on my Tab, it says my system is up to date. How could it be? Perhaps they are not sending it to everyone at this time?
 
I was also unable to update via setting - software update - update. What i just did is i uncheck the automatic update, then press the update again. The new appearance is sleek n colorful..although i love the previous black n white color in Setting.

There is no "software update" or "automatic update" to uncheck in Settings. What version of Galaxy Tab do you have? I have the 4G 10.1 version.

I think the WiFi version got the update first from what I heard but I can be wrong since it is not out yet where I am from
 
The 4G version is different. Under Settings --> About Tablet, I only have "System Updates" on the list.

I will take my Tab to the demo booth at the mall and let the Samsung rep does the update sometime next week.

Ok I just got the Touchwiz update and its pretty darn cool. I couldnt do it OTA but once I hooked it up to my PC and opened Kies it asked if I wanted to apply the firmware update. After that it took about 15 minutes. And it solves any lagg issues I was having. This thing is FAST!!!!!!

They haven't started pushing the update for the 4G tabs yet, in fact I still haven't heard that date they plan on starting it.

So I'm guessing no one will be able to do it manually for you, as AFAIK the update doesn't exist yet for us.
 
Samsung released the TouchWiz update 2-3 weeks ago but quickly pulled it because of screen-related issues that some customers were having with their devices. Samsung just re-released the update a few days ago supossedly with the fixes in place. If you already had TouchWiz, the update was ~3MB. If you didn't have TouchWiz, the update was ~180MB. I updated a brand-new Tab 10.1 with TouchWiz this past Sunday and have had no issues thus far.

It's my understanding the update is for the Wifi-only version, not the Verizon 4G version, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
 
Samsung needs major improvements. They pulled the update last week because it was bricking some tablets. The corrected update is back up again and now the tablets cannot log into your Samsung account. According to Samsung tech support, they are working on fixing the issue.
 
I got the update Sunday, it seems rather useless and I don't care for the new look. Be careful what you wish for!!
 
Just curious, isn't the 4G version and WiFi version are basically running the same operating system except with different the radio stack?
 
I just got my Tab today and I have to say I love it so far, however one thing my tab already had the touch wiz installed.

Maybe it is because it is the Canada release not sure
