I have an HTC Rezound, and I unlocked it and rooted it (stock .11 ROM) and everything was fine. Then, the phone started getting way too hot (screen, battery) so I took it into Verizon and they said they would replace it. I now have my replacement phone and I'm trying to re-lock and unroot the phone, but when I use HTC's tool or the Root Toolkit to re-lock the phone, I get this:
-----
(bootloader) Lock successfully...
(bootloader) TZ_HTC_SVC_DISABLE ret = 134086000 (0x7FDFD70)
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
finished. total time: 0.937s
-----
The phone reboots, and the loader indicates "Re-locked" and something about a security issue. However, I am unable to boot the phone into the OS; rebooting, powering off, pulling the battery, wiping data, etc. all results in the phone returning to the FastBoot screen when turned on. I also tried installing the OTA .11 RUU EXE, but got an error indicating the bootloader was the wrong version. I am able to unlock the phone again using HTC's tool and the phone then boots normally, but if I re-lock thep hone again, I have the same issue. Could someone please help? Thanks in advance.
