Help Cannot Play Gmail Attached .WMV Files

I get security camera .wmv preview files sent to me automatically via gmail.

I tap on them and it says there is no player and suggests getting one for the market.

Ugh! I have looked at the market and there are all kinds of move players........ confused. I don;t want to play full rented mvies. I just need a media player.

On the OG Droid I just tapped them and they played.

I believe arcmedia plays wmv files.

Well the title says Gmail attachments but its was global. The below will pertain to Gmail though.

After searching hi and lo for an App that did does not want permissions for all there is in this world I foundvMPlayer-armv6 in the market.

The free version plays my .wmv files nicely and seems to have a very light footprint in the system.

In the Gmail message I tap the attachment to get the "Save" option and it defaults it to the "/mnt/sdcard/download" folder.

I have to use Astro to open the downloads folder and select it. I say have to because Gmail provides no means of selecting where I want to save it or it would go straight to the Videos folder.

Please let me know if you guys have better otr other options.

Update, I replaced my player with MoBoPlayer. Its MUCH BETTER.

I can select attached files in the email clients and get the choice to save or play from there.
