Help cannot recieve calls...help

Hopefully some of you guys can help me. I cannot recieve calls on my sensation in my home.....everywhere else is perfect but when someone tries to call my cell when i'm at home the phone rings but i can't hear anything and they can't hear me. I've rang my carrier numerous times and all the say is " we can't gurentee (sp) a signal indoors My kids use the same carrier and have no problems making or recieving calls indoors so is there something i need to do with my phone to improve signal i have wifi turned off presently and just missed a call a few minutes ago because of this issue.....help......otherwise my phone is great

Only thing you can try is to hold the phone in a different way, maybe with the other hand

sorry only seeing this now.....are you serious.....would that actually work?
Gona get someone to call me just to check that out....think i've tried everything else
