Help Cannot save photos

Hi everyone,

When someone sends me a photo via MMS or e-mail, I can open the attachment but cannot save it. When I hit the Menu button, no option comes up to save. I don't understand why it's so difficult to save a photo onto my phone, on my BB it was easy! Please help.

I can open the photo in the default viewer or in Quick Pic, neither offers me the option to save a photo.

several things to consider. starting with simple and then progress. If yer like me, step by step is best.
1. check SD card. (is there one installed,a lot of phones do not come w/ one) Next is it full or have room for more.(get a bigger one if the phone can handle it.)
2. Do u hit download button. I no this sounds like "Duhh" but I have moments like that ALL THE TIME.
3. Do you have spyware/antivirus on phone? If it runs all the time it may not allow unless you disable first.(B CAREFUL!!! MAKE SURE U trust source and r offline b4 u do this and rem to turn back on!!!!)
4. If you didn't already know, you could try a refresh on yer phone. once/week r so (if phone lags) remove battery, wait 1-2 min and reload. If w/ VZW freshen contact w/ towers 1-2 times/ week. Dial *228 and choose option 2, (not 1) and wait for it to say yer done.
5. How much r u using in background? If too much processor is being used, then close everything not being used. Also on this line clear history in browser and all caches. this frees up internal memory.

Long press the pic and a menu will come up to save attached to sd card as one of the options. Longpress and android are a handy combination.

Hi,

Long pressing the picture does nothing :(

Hi,

thank you for your response. I do have an SD card - it's an 8GB. There is no download button anywhere - I wish there were! I hardly have any apps downloaded on my phone, I'm so careful about that. There just simply is no menu option to save my photos and it's so frustrating!

I'm confused... When in the app, and within the text thread with the picture, a long press on the pic won't bring up a menu with one of the options being copy to sd? This is my second android phone, and both did it, IDK why yours won't...

Ok, I just tried it again.. it's working now - in SMS only. Here's what was going on. I'm using Handcent for my SMS, and when I touch the picture in the app, a pop up displays that says "Complete action using" and then has me select either QuickPic (which I downloaded) or "View picture" for the native app. I was opening the picture in both of those, long-pressing it, and nothing was happening. Apparently I need to long-press the picture IN the text thread without opening it first, which I didn't realize you could do!

However, I still can't get a menu option to pop up when trying to save or download a picture in my e-mail. I've tried it in both my Yahoo Mail app and the native app. I can't even get it to open in the native app. In the native app, I hit "View Attachment" and then it shows the name of the photo with a grey downward pointing arrow to the left of the photo name, but the arrow is not clickable and seems to do nothing. What am I doing wrong??

My pics always auto download in my gmail. If I open the mail before it has had a chance to finish, it has the little swirly download waiting thingy. After it downloads, it is there for me to see.

IDK how yahoo mail works, I only use gmail and a private server email address that is linked to my gmail.

Thanks for the gmail tip.. I can't get my photos to open even in the native e-mail app. Very frustrating to have this fancy phone and not be able to open or save a picture that's e-mailed to you!
