Root cannot sbf droid x

trying to sbf back to 602, and rsd lite says i have errors verifying code group 31 checksums. any help, i'm definitely not the smartest. my phone went into the red eye boot loop by itself so i figure i'd try to sbf and root it before the warranty phone got to me.

i have unzipped the sbf file multiple times, re-downloaded it, tried to sbf to 596, every time same error message.

Try using the Linux method in the stickies.

the errors come from a bad sbf file, the linux method works brilliantly, but i do prefer rsd lite, just so i can use windows while doing it

You could just go into factory recovery and perform a factory reset. If that doesn't work then I would do what ylexot suggested. And that Linux method is the bomb by the way....lol

i have now tried 4 different sbf files, same 31 checksum error message.

i cannot boot from cd on this sony vaio, went through the bios, and have the cd drive as the top of the list. cant get it to work.
