Help Cannot Send MMS Messages!! Nexus 4

A few weeks ago I purchased a nexus 4, my service provider is t-mobile and all of a sudden i'm having a problem sending picture messages :mad:.. When I first started using the phone it worked perfectly! But now for the past week it's not been working. I contacted customer support on the issue and they told me to call technical support. I have not called them yet because i'm hoping to get the answer I need on here.

What I have done so far is change the APN settings, even created a new one with the help from the tmobile customer service and there was no luck. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this problem? Any other information needed please let me know. Thanks.
 
I'm having kind of the same problem, sometimes i try sending pictures and people don't receive them but there's time they go through and the previous ones that i send go through also. This happens receiving and sending.
 
Do either of you know what type (2G, 3G, H/+, LTE) and quality of signals you have? If your data signal is weak, you will have problems with MMS. I'm on Straight Talk AT&T, but when I have a weak (-100-110 dBm) signal (or use 2G because it gives me a stronger voice signal at home), MMS doesn't come or go. I can usually use the web (slowly of course) with that poor signal but MMS doesn't work. It may just be ST, though.
Bharrison, it could be a temporary tower issue in your area since it was working before. These devices are computers and a factory reset can sometimes get things working again. Be sure to make back-ups of everything (music, pictures, text and phone logs, other data, apps) before doing any reset as you will likely lose all your data. I would take advantage of T-Mobile tech support. They may ask you to do that reset so be prepared for what that would mean.
 
I had nothing but problems for the 8 months I was on ST. No matter what APN settings I had, no matter which SIM I was using(ATT or T-Mo) I just never had MMS working right. I eventually gave up and went back to ATT the actual carrier and havent had any problems since. Sometimes paying less isnt always worth the hassle.

Not necessarily a ST issue. I'm running through AT&T using Straight Talk and my MMS has always worked just fine. I guess I got lucky and found the magic APN settings my first try :D

My settings in the hope it will help someone:

APN: att.mvno
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: mms2.tracfone.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310 MNC:410
APN Type: default,supl,mms,hipri
 
Funny. I just had issues being able to send MMS yesterday all day. Go figure, I jinxed myself. It wasnt until this morning I clicked and unclicked every radio button in the options under settings and then they all started going through.

Sometimes I wonder if its because I have put 11ty million ROM's on this phone or if it happens to stock phones too.
 
Subscribed. Curious to hear the replies as I just had issues trying to send MMS on T-Mo yesterday. On their prepaid plan and had decent HSPA signal in Denver.
 
I think this is a nexus 4/T-Mobile issue. Because i have problems also and my friends on T-Mobile/GS3 don't have these issues.

I am SW of Denver. Just tested MMS with my husband, it worked fine. We are both using Nexus 4's on Solavei (T-Mobile MVNO.)

I've had MMS problems since I got my N4 back in January.

To begin with I couldn't send or receive MMS'. Currently I can receive them (although they can take a few minutes to download) I just can't send them. Been onto LG and Orange (my provider) also buymobilephones.net whom I purchased my N4 contract through. Each have had me jump through their respective hoops in order to try and fix this but alas nothing has worked. Last I heard the tech guy from buymobilephones.net agreed with me that the SIM might be at fault. But that was over a month ago and he seems to be ignoring my emails (again) for a follow-up.

Even rooting never fixed it.

I'm kinda coping without a fully functioning MMS service but there really are times when life could be made easier if I could send them... and you really feel like you are out of the loop not having that avenue of communication at your disposal.
 
Wife and I have similar problems in SWFL on Tmobile. We find that wifi HAS to be off. Other then that... T-Mo has been no help getting this resolved. We've just gotten to the point where we tell others to text us to let us know there is a MMS coming our way.
 
I'm on tmobile In the UK and I can't send an MMS message which is very annoying. Can send
A photo via what's ap but not via MMS. Any ideas anyone??
 
I have the same exact issue. It seems to be related to WiFi being enabled.

Once it gets "stuck" this way the only way I have found to correct the problem is to locate all MMS messages in your conversation history (the ones with the paper clip) that have "SENDING..." status on them, delete them (or delete all MMS messages in your conversation history), turn the WiFi off, and then create a new message to send. Once this is done, the new messages seem to go through.

Still, it is INCREDIBLY annoying to have to remember to turn WiFi off before sending an MMS message. This bug needs to be fixed!!!

I've came across the same issue. MMS must be sent over a mobile connection and not wifi. For some reason it seems unable to do this when a wifi connection is enabled.
 
What messaging app are you guys using?
I've discovered that with the stock messaging app I can get it to work 99% of the time but I get a100% failure rate with Handcent (which I've been using on my N4 since day one) . I only discovered this yesterday and haven't had a chance to try out other apps

I'm currently running PA 3.6 with the default messaging app, but I've come across this issue on CM and stock ROMs as well. It seems to be an issue with Android 4.2.2 itself perhaps just like the delayed wifi notifications. Google doesn't give a s*it about patching at this point as they're about ready to drop Android 4.3 in a hopefully bug free launch. One can dream anyway..
 
I recently fixed a phone with the same problem and it seems to apply with any MMS sending. The are two a few things to check first.
Take note of the size of your MMS by sending a pic where you know the size.
Do not connect to WiFi.
Take not of the amount of ram you are using before sending MMS.
Send a test MMS.
Does your signal drop or is it weak?
Do you have very little to almost no ram when trying to send?
If your signal drops then you will need to increase the signal scan intervals.
If you have very little to no ram while sending MMS then you will need to increase your delvik cache and allow automatic purge of memory.
Theses changes are all made in the build.prop file. Rather then taking a chance in making a typo, just download the app PimpMyRom from Google play. It works best on rooted devices.
 
From what I can find, it appears to be a bug with 4.2 that Google has not acknowledged. Lots of posts like above: MMS not sending while on WiFi, sends fine with WiFi off.

Hopefully they fix it in 4.3, because that crap is annoying...
