Help cannot sync contacts

Just got this phone and cannot sync my contact list.everything else syncs just fine but when it comes to contacts it says that there was a problem. All my contacts are on my Gmail but wont transfer to the phone. I can't manually enter either. It says they were created but wont show on phone. But they will duplicate on Gmail. When I get a call or text the name shows up butnot in the contacts. Please help

I might try a factory reset. It sounds like you didn't add the gmail account when you initially activated the phone.

(Are the contacts you want to sync in the primary gmail account, or a secondary one?)
