Help Cannot Transfer backup from itune to kies

HI there,

I am new here. If my following problem had been addressed, please refer me to the relevant link.

I was using iphone 4, updated to ios6. Upon purchasing the new galaxy note 2, I backup iphone 4 in itune.

After downloading Kies, I tried to transfer the backup from itune but Kies have a pop up in Korean that I don't understand a bit, except ios6 wording within the Korean. And the transfer cannot proceed.

Can anyone advise please? I have also updated to the latest software and firmware for the Galaxy Note 2.

Thank you in advance.

You cannot use an iOS backup on an Android device. What exactly are you trying to put on the Note 2?

^This. Two different ecosystems that will not play well together. Your iOS backup is useless on the Android platform. You're basically going to have to start from scratch and load all your pics/movies/music/etc on to you Note 2 and then create a new backup.

Like I said in my post earlier, in Kies, there is this option call "transfer your backup data from non-samsung device. When I selected the desire option, and the desire "non-samsung" backup device, there is this pop up in Korean, and the action just freezes.

Can anyone help?

Definitely didn't see that anywhere in your initial post. At this time I know I cant help. I don't use Kies and the version I have has no Korean in it. I'm still lost on how you're going to use an iOS backup on an Android device. That would be like me trying to run windows 8 on an iPhone......cant be done.

Hello,

I am also in a similar situation as the OP. I lost my iPhone and luckily did a backup a few weeks back on iTunes. I went out and got a Note 2 as a replacement. I know that you cannot use an iOS backup on an Android device. My question is how can you extract the data (contacts, pictures, notes, etc.) from iTunes without using an iPhone? Any software tools to suggest?

Thanks in advance!
