Help Cannot Transfer MP3s from PC to LG G2

inspro

Lurker
Have an LG G2 running 4.4.2. I have always been able to easily transfer MP3s by connecting in MTP, opening the folder on the phone where I want them, and dragging and droppinf from PC to that folder.

Now, and this started in the past month, I get a message asking if I want to do this.

Then, it takes a long time to transfer, if it does it at all. Sometimes it takes 20 minutes to transfer a 5mb file. BTW, the mp3s play fine.

I have not changed anything on the phone or computer. Even the cord and USB port is the same. Anyone have any ideas?

How much space is left on the device?

Also I always use Airdroid to transfer my files from computer to device it works great and with out the need for cables.

I second argedion's question about space.

Is the file you were trying to copy in the above instance actually named "Slow transfer.mp3"?

What operating system are you using on your computer? Are there any other issues you're experiencing?

I have 6GB of free space. I named the file "slow transfer" for the screen grab, so you would not see the actual file name of "Smoking hot Octogenarians do it all".

This is a Win 7 computer, and I am starting to figure out that the USB for the machine might be the problem. It might have nothing to do with the phone.

Doesn't Airdroid eat up your data allowance?

Try both MTP and PTP connection types as some users have reported only PTP working on the G2, especially on newer OS versions.

Also, the G2 has native wireless storage/transfer built in.

I would say if you don't want to use cables to transfer, just use the built in Wireless transfer. I use it all the time with no issues.

Airdroid works on wifi so has nothing to do with your data
