Help Cannot type in some text boxes on various websites

Bionic89

Lurker
Hi,
for some reason I cannot type letters and or numbers into some text boxes such as on Kia's website where it asks for a zip code. I cannot enter anything and sometimes the keyboard does not come up.
I need to use this website Auto Lease Calculator - Calculate Lease Payments and and Total Leasing Cost
tomorrow at the dealership and I cannot get it to allow me to input numbers into the website.
Is there any program I can use on my phone to get it to work?
I tried the firefox app, but it said plugin missing?

I just tried that site and saw the same thing. It's a limitation of the site.

BUT... if you tap the Lease Calculator for Apple iPhone and iPad it brings you to the mobile version. You can at the very least fill in the lease information.

Various sites use different code that certain browsers are not capable with. You can blame the site or browser but as a developer i can tell you the current browsers although improving tend to be the issue. Download opera, firefox, maxthom, etc and 9/10 one of these browsers will work while the others wont and it will change site to site

Many websites have special processing for small devices to "help" the visitors. This might be the problem.

The Tip at ... Set Browser UAString ... tells you how to make your Bionic Browser be seen by those websites as a desktop browser.

It is worth a try to see if it solves the problem.

Try the Dolphin Browser HD. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsIm1vYmkubWdlZWsuVHVubnlCcm93c2VyIl0.

I just tried the lease calculator site (which is a flash app, it appears) and I could enter text in the text boxes. (On a Droid 3, but the two phones are nearly identical.)

I have come Across those types of text boxes. What will sometimes work is, touch the box where you want to enter text and hold down the menu key (Beside your home key) and it will force the keyboard to pop up. :)

Edit:

Wow! I just tried it and I couldn't enter any text either using my opera browser!

Well, what I said about forcing the keyboard only works in some situations. (Shruggs)
