Help cannot type manually in google search on droid

[glasshalffull]

when i try to manually type in a url into google search on the droid about halfway thru typing it, google automatically changes my typed text to something else and i cannot change it back. So it won't allow me to type in the correct info at all.

i'm guessing that it's automatically selecting it's own recommendation.

how do i stop this?

fyi, i do have better keyboard app installed if that is causing an issue.

thanks
