Help Cannot use standard mail to sync with outlook

Hi all

I recently changed from my iphone to the Infuse, not upset with the change at all EXCEPT for one item, and it may be the deal breaker.

I cannot get the standard email app to connect to my activesync for my corporate email. This is so surprising to me that this is an issue. When I load up the settings I get a "Cannot connect server" error.

now my help (less) desk at work told me that it was a froyo issue and that gingerbread would fix it, but that seems like a cop out to me. I need this standard program to work.

I downloaded touchdown and it seems to work, but I have 30 days and then it's 20 bucks, and as a matter of principle I won't pay for a program for something that is supposed to work out of the box. If the program is an additional feature or greatly improves what I have to do, then ok, but the mail should work..

Can anyone confirm the gingerbread release fixes this

And can anyone give me any suggestions.

This may be the reason this phone goes back to best buy because I need it to do my work, despite how gorgeous it is.
