Help Can't access contacts [Solution: Hard Reset]

My contacts application for some reason will not open. Whenever I try to open it I get a force close. I've tried a restart, battery pull, clearing the data from the HTC contacts app, still nothing. Any ideas? Yes I can still call out and send text messages btw

are you rooted?

did you install or uninstall any apps prior to this occurring?

does the pop up show what process is being stopped?

is this a UK device or US device?

Not rooted no new apps it's the contacts app it's a US phone

Sounds like its time for a hard reset.

Yea did one yesterday. Fixed the problem but I always hate having to do it
