Have you used or stored anything on the phone?

If you reset the phone and put in a new google account you would lose all your contacts and all downloaded apps. You can export the contacts to the sd card to save them but you would lose any paid for apps and would have to purchase them again.

It sounds like someone flashed your ROM with the early release of the CM7 Beta for Optimus M which still had the Virgin Mobile info. If I were you, I'd flash the phone back to it's stock ROM or an updated version of the CM7 Beta that has the correct info. At that point, go about making the phone yours.

Both the Android Market(?) and Amazon AppStore use DRM in paid apps. There's no way to use anyone else's apps without being them. You'll either have to stay with their account or buy them yourself. In the case of free items, they can simply just be downloaded again.

If you added your contacts under their Google Account, that's a mistake on your part. The person you bought it from now has all the info of people you know. If you deleted people from the phone you've deleted their Google Contacts, and they're probably confused as hell right now trying to figure out why their old contacts are disappearing and who the new people are.

Wiping the phone will let you use it to it's full potential and properly.

I added my contacts under phone-only unsynced account... how do i know what apps are the pay apps?...and if i wipe the phone how do i back up my contacts?...and will it still be rooted?...and if not rooted whats the pros and cons? and how do reset it step by step....

- Export contacts to the SD Card and back them up on the PC.

- There is no easy way to check which apps are paid other than looking them all up manually.

- After you've checked all the apps and backed up the contacts, you have two choices:
A) Use the process that restores your phone to factory default with LGNPST. You'll have to re-root, but it's a 1-click process.
B) Power down the phone and hold the Home key, Vol Down key then press and hold the Power key too. If Custom Recovery is still installed, you'll be presented with it's menu after the LG screen. You can use this to Wipe Data, Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik Cache. Make sure you already have the ROM you wish to use before you start wiping. If Custom Recovery is not present, you'll see a little android with a box unpacking. The phone is doing a factory reset. If this is the case, you'll need to do the LGNPST process anyway.

What do you mean you can't access market? If Google credentials are not presently on the device you shouldn't lose anything by adding your account info. I would first browse to Amazon and setup that marketplace with Amazon.com credentials and then install titanium backup and it will tell you if the apps you are concerned with have market links. For the most part you should be able to backup and restore them after changing Google credentials. I Never tested this as Gmail is the first thing I setup but if tibu indicates no market links it may indicate it is a pirated app but its not conclusively so. After you backup your apps and data you should be able to add gmail from Settings»Accounts and then have access to your own Google apps. You wont be able to add any of the free or paid market apps to your Google account without installing and/or paying for them in Google.

Does this make sense?
