Hi kristen, and welcome to the forums!

Sounds like a weird issue... First thing to try might be to turn you phone off by holding the power button for about 1 second to get the power menu to pop up. Turn it off, let it do its thing, then turn it back on. Sometimes updates can cause all sorts of screwy things, even if it is an official update. If that doesn't work, you might try clearing cache and dalvik cache, but you may need more details on how to do that depending on your experience level. A factory data reset can work wonders too sometimes, but be sure you back up all important data and understand what that is doing before proceeding.

I'm sure someone will chime in with some other recommendations too. Maybe this is a problem someone else has has, but I haven't heard of it.

Who is your carrier? Are you rooted? Stock OS or custom ROM, if custom, which ROM? Have you installed any questionable apps lately?
