Help Can't add Facebook account - keep receiving error message

I've been trying to add my Facebook account since I got the Evo on launch day and I continue to get the same error message. I haven't seen any threads mentioning this so I'm assuming it's just me, but I'm hoping others have experienced this and may know a fix.

I go to Menu>Settings>Accounts & Sync>Add acount>Facebook for HTC Sense, I enter in my e-mail and password and receive the following message:

"The service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again?"

I select Yes but it just keeps popping up and has done so for the last four days. Does anyone know a fix for this? I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling. I called Sprint and they suggested I reset the phone which is not something I want to do. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
 
My friend is having the same problem, and were trying to get it figured out. If anyone knows any fixes please let us know. It would be greatly appreciated.
 
RESOLVED: Need to login to facebook (on PC) and go to privacy settings, then applications and websites, then you must turn on Platform Applications. then it works like a champ!
 
the only time i have that issue, was when a remote user tried to log on to my acct from an unknown device, and apparently failed to hack the p-word. i had to log on and confirm or deny the device, then reset my password. after that worked lovely.
 
This is irritating. I downloaded the syncmypix and then I deleted it before I logged into facebook. I wonder if thats the issue.

I just added this security feature and I get an email when I tried to login in through HTC Sense. This makes me believe its a facebook problem on their end.
 
Same problem with my evo, but I just got it so I thought that it was something that I didnt have set correctly.
