Root Can't backup

I got a Nook Color and decided to root it and play around with some ROMs. Before I start, I wanted to make sure I got a backup in case something goes horribly wrong.

I rooted with AutoNooter just fine. I rebooted into recovery to perform a backup, but it fails, it says "can't mount /system". Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I don't feel comfortable putting a ROM on without having a backup available, and would prefer not to do the SD card ROMs.

Figured it out. When you flash Clockwork Recovery it asks if you have a Nook Color (old) or Nook Color. I figured (old) was for an older version so I chose the other one. Turns out I must have the (old) one.

Anyone know what the difference is?

I noticed this as well, the Old worked fine, and said so, the other gave an error saying it didnt work right or something to that effect.

I think it only matters what software version your on, since there's only one Nook Color.

OK, maybe I spoke too soon. I did the backup, and it went fine, so I did reboot system now. Every time I reboot it goes back into Clockwork Recovery. I can't get it to boot to the OS. I even removed the SD card thinking there might be something on there, no luck. I did a hard shut off (N button and power for 10 seconds) and I am still booting to Recovery.

Holding Power + "n" will make the nook boot into recovery from internal memory. Try just holding power to shut off, or from Recovery, just hit, Reboot

Yup, I've tried all of that. Holding down the power for 10 seconds shuts it off, I turn it back on and it goes into Recovery. I hit "reboot" from recovery and it reboots into recovery.

I see the "N" logo for about a quarter of a second before it boots into recovery.
