Root Cant boot into recovery

There's an option to mount it in hboot somewhere. Not sure if that will help. I know that people who've gotten stuck in hboot were able to run RUUs. Sorry, I don't have my phone with me right now, and it's making things difficult.

So, where did you get this phone again? Can you get your money back?

I had a similar thing happen once when I first got into this a while back. Had to rock the fastboot push options from command line on my PC with the dev console to get things installed properly.

There is an overwhelming wealth of information on how to do these things over at XDA if you're up for a little reading.

well, does it have a fastboot option? When I got stuck like that I had to use fastboot to push a working recovery so I could get the rest of what I needed to do done.

edit: also, it was a huge pain in the ass

fastboot from the command line? Did/do you have the eng bootloader? I believe you need that for that to work.

Yeah, that's not going to help the OP, unfortunately. Besides, a PC36IMG will get you your recovery back just as well, but you need s-off already.

Ok, let's try something crazy. This might work or it might be a dead end. Rename the attached file to PC36IMG.zip, and flash it from hboot. I want to see if you can get a custom recovery image.

EDIT: I can't get it to attach. If anyone has any version of CW as a PC36IMG hosted somewhere, can you please provide a link?

Ah, yeah, I do have the .76 eng bootloader.
Once you get this figured out I highly recommend it~

I haven't done this in a while. Is the newer hboot really impossible to deal with without already having access to a working recovery (it's not like it was there by default) or is the answer here going to be to root this thing the old school way?

Well, apparently running a PC36IMG for stock didn't work. I'm thinking it might be possible to get a custom recovery and flash unrevoked forever. Thing is - if a stock PC36IMG didn't fix it, there might be something more serious going on. There could be some kind of physical damage to the device (water damage, maybe?).

Sorry about the delay of reply. In the navy and had a 24 hour shift. Ok so i tried renaming the file and no luck. So far no luck.

Yep, there's your problem. Same thing just happened to someone else I was helping troubleshoot a similar issue. See if you can find a 8 GB card like the one that comes stock. You should be able to flash PC36IMG files normally with that.

Great. Once you get it, follow the original instructions above, and let's see if it works. I'll be here if you need help.
